SFVS Cares for the Hearts of Bay Area Canine and Feline Companions
San Francisco Veterinary Specialists Adds Veterinary Cardiologist Lori Drourr to Medical Staff
San Francisco, Calif., Feb. 16, 2009 – Those chocolate hearts for Valentine’s weren’t the only hearts on our minds this February. The heart health of our much-loved pets also is top of mind at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists, Inc. (SFVS), the first and only multi-specialty referral hospital in San Francisco. SFVS has announced the latest addition to the hospital’s team: Lori Drourr, DVM. Dr. Drourr will be seeing patients at SFVS on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning Feb. 16, 2009.
“At SFVS, we are dedicated to serving the greater Bay Area community and providing exceptional service within our hospital. Lori brings a great deal of experience and energy to our team, along with a strong background in diagnosing and treating cardiac disease. Our referring veterinarians, clients and patients all will enjoy working with her,” said Craig H. Maretzki, VMD, MS, DACVIM, medical director at SFVS.
Dr. Drourr completed her cardiology residency training at Texas A&M University and brings to SFVS a strong foundation in the management and care of congenital and acquired cardiac disease. She is compassionate about preserving the human-animal bond with long-term cardiology patients.
Dr. Drourr is a 1996 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After earning her DVM degree, she spent seven years working in general practice in the Northeast before relocating to the West Coast. Dr. Drourr has much experience working on the referring side of the fence, and she is looking forward to working with SFVS’s referring veterinarians to ensure the best client and patient care.
Following are just a few of the services available through SFVS’s cardiology care program:
