Today on the blog, we feature Nico. One of Dr. Jason Kidd’s oncology patients, Nico is being treated for an aggressive cancer.
But who says you can’t visit the veterinary hospital in style? This good-looking kitty dons some amazing outfits for his appointments with Dr. Kidd and our oncology team. Here his human companion Audrey shares a little more about Nico, along with some sweet photos of this handsome boy.
I adopted Nico when he was around four years old, and he’s been a joy to have in our lives. He was at a foster/rescue home for a while, and when I saw him on the PetFinder website, I knew he was super special. He’s originally from New York, where we spent over six years together, and he moved here to San Francisco around Christmas 2012.
His full name is Nicolai, which is a nod to his Russian Blue-ish heritage.
Nico loves naps in the sun, sitting in boxes, sprawling on our laps (which is a new development as of a couple years ago), and eating yummy chicken whenever we feed it to him. He also has a slight obsession with chewing on plastic (he loves the crinkly noises!), and although he’s not quite as active as before, he still plays with paper receipt balls once in a while.
We have a number of outfits for him, and he’s so good about wearing them for us. 🙂 He likes sleeping under the covers with his head on my pillow and sitting proudly on my laptop keyboard when it’s the least convenient time to do so.
We are honored to be on Nico’s veterinary care team and wish this precious boy all the best. Many thanks to Audrey for the write-up and photos.
