Our staff spotlight series is making a comeback! In these posts, our clients and friends can learn a little more about the people at VCA SFVS, from the veterinarians to the administration staff to the techs to the client service reps. We kick off the series with Charlotte Lewis, a technician here at our hospital.
Name: Charlotte Lewis
Department(s): Emergency/Internal Medicine/Oncology
When did you join VCA SFVS? January 2013
Favorite part of your job? My favorite part of this job is establishing a relationship with those clients and their pets that have a more long-term care plan and being a part of their veterinary medicine journey.
Tell us a little bit about yourself: I am from North Carolina and I have a degree in zoology from North Carolina State University. My goal is to go back to school for my PhD in physiology with a focus in reproduction. I have lived in California for three years now … but there’s no place like home. I am very family-oriented and miss my parents and two sisters tremendously. I am engaged to my undergraduate sweetheart named Sidney, who is a chemistry PhD student at Berkeley.
Any animal companions of your own? I have an 11-year-old retired research Maltese-beagle mix named Hank that I adopted from NCSU during my undergrad. I also have two cats named Kiko (black) and Koi (calico).
What do you enjoy outside work? When I’m not working, I enjoy going to the gym, hanging with my fiancé, sewing and playing around in my enormous make-up collection.
Who’s one of your favorite artists? Beyonce
What are you currently reading? Far From the Tree by Andrew Solomon
Favorite TV show? I Love Lucy (I own all 194 episodes in the collector’s set.)
